Wildlife Bridge
Drivers should expect significant disruption on the A13 motorway this weekend as both directions will be closed between Differdange and the Biff roundabout to allow for the construction of a wildlife bridge. As a result, traffic will not be able to access the A13 from the Biff roundabout towards Esch. Similarly, those travelling from Differdange will not be able to drive towards Petange, and while access from Sanem to Esch remains possible, the ramp to Petange will stay closed.[1]
Diversions will be in place throughout the closure. From the Biff roundabout, traffic will be rerouted via the N31 through Niederkorn, then onto the CR175A and CR175 to Sanem, where drivers can rejoin the motorway. For those starting from Differdange, the diversion leads via the N32, CR174, and N31, passing through Differdange and Niederkorn, back to the Biff roundabout. Travellers from Sanem should take the CR175 and CR175A via Niederkorn to reach the Biff roundabout.[1]
The A13 was in this blog yesterday. In "Sixteen," the roundup of six traffic accidents, a collision on the A13 between Ehlerange and Lankelz left two people injured. Today, the same motorway is closing for a different reason: not a crash, but a bridge. A wildlife bridge. The road closes so that animals can cross it. The detours go through Niederkorn, Differdange, Sanem. The weekend will be slow for drivers and safe for deer. Both things are true.[1]
