A4 and Three Fires
Firefighters were called out to fires in Luxembourg City, Greisch, and Itzigerste. A bin caught fire on Rue d'Epernay in Luxembourg City, while a tree burned on Rue de Tuntange in Greisch and a hedge caught fire at Itzigerste. At around 10:40am, firefighters from Leudelange and Mondercange were called to the A4 after a car and a lorry collided between Leudelange-Nord and the Cessange interchange. An ambulance from Luxembourg City also attended the scene. According to the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS), no one was injured.[1]
A bin, a tree, a hedge, and a crash. Three fires and a collision, all before noon. The A4 is the motorway that connects Luxembourg City to Esch-sur-Alzette, the same corridor where the A13 is closing this weekend for a wildlife bridge. The crash was between a car and a lorry. The ambulance came. No one was hurt. The bin on Rue d'Epernay burned. The tree in Greisch burned. The hedge in Itzigerste burned. The firefighters went to all of them. Last night, two fires in Bettembourg and Esch. Today, three more in Luxembourg City, Greisch, and Itzigerste. The CGDIS annual report said 2,665 fire reports last year, 40% actual fires. This week, the percentage seems higher.[1]
