One Hundred Cables
Police are seeking witnesses after 100 copper cables were found at a roundabout in Sanem. According to initial findings, the cables may have fallen from a lorry or delivery van shortly before they were discovered.[1]
One hundred copper cables. At a roundabout. In Sanem. Someone, somewhere, is missing a significant quantity of copper and has not yet noticed, or has noticed and chosen not to mention it. Copper theft from construction sites and infrastructure is a persistent problem across Europe, driven by the metal's resale value. Whether these cables were stolen, lost, or simply poorly secured remains to be determined.[1]
Anyone who observed a suspicious vehicle or anything unusual in the area of the roundabout is asked to contact the Esch-sur-Alzette police station.[1]
