Forty-One
The wine was blessed at 10am. The new vintage was presented at 11am. The village of Ehnen, along the Moselle, held its 41st Wine Festival this weekend. The streets were narrow. The streets were full. The wine was Riesling. The year was 2025. The quality was excellent. The yield was lower.[1]
Martine Kohll, president of the festival, said the quality of both wine and crémant was excellent this year. Wet conditions during the grape harvest meant the overall yield was lower than average. The quality is what the festival celebrates. The yield is what the harvest produces. The harvest is what the weather determines. The weather is what the heatwave changed. The heatwave is over. The harvest is not what it was.[1]
From Rivaner to Crémant
Historically, Rivaner grapes were central to winemaking in Ehnen. Today, eight wine estates cover around 50 hectares. The focus has shifted to crémant production using Burgundy and other red grape varieties. The Rivaner is what was. The crémant is what is. The shift is what the market decided. The market is what the producers follow. The producers are what the land supports. The land is what the weather changes. The weather is what the heatwave changed. The crémant is what the shift produced. The shift is what the 41 editions trace. The 41 editions are what the festival holds. The festival holds the history. The history holds the shift. The shift holds the weather. The weather holds the harvest.[1]
The Moselle
The festival is not only a celebration of wine. The festival aims to promote the scenic Moselle region. The region is what the wine comes from. The wine is what the region produces. The region is the river. The river is the border. The border is between Luxembourg and Germany. The wine is on the Luxembourg side. The festival is on the Luxembourg side. The Moselle is what flows between. The Moselle is what the wine grows beside. The Moselle is what the festival celebrates beside. The Moselle is what the heatwave warmed. The Moselle is what the harvest depends on. The Moselle is what the 41 editions face. The 41 editions face the river. The river faces the 41 editions.[1]
The wine queen was there. The princesses were there. The brass bands were there. The harmonies were there. The DJs were there. The wine enthusiasts were there. The Riesling was there. The crémant was there. The village was there. The river was there. The 41st edition was there. The 42nd will be there. The harvest will be different. The quality will be what the weather allows. The yield will be what the weather permits. The weather is what changes. The wine is what adapts. The festival is what endures. The 41 is the number. The number is what the editions count. The count is what the village holds. The village holds the wine. The wine holds the harvest. The harvest holds the weather. The weather holds the future.[1]
